5 Day Mindset Challenge: Growth Mindset For Success
1. What is a growth mindset and how does it differ from a fixed mindset
A growth mindset is the belief that your intelligence and abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work. It’s about taking on challenges, facing them with perseverance, working harder in order to achieve mastery and success. A fixed mindset is just the opposite: it assumes that you’re born either smart or dumb; talented or untalented; capable of growing or hopelessly stuck where you are now. With a fixed mindset there’s nothing more to do but give up – which means giving in to mediocrity because greatness seems unattainable. Fixed-mindset people avoid difficult tasks (thinking they lack ability) like the plague for fear of being exposed as “less than”
Fixed Mindset = Mediocre Life
Growth Mindset = Greatness
In 5 Days You’ll Be Ready To:
- Recognize a fixed mindset and how it affects your life.
- Take 5 days to build a growth mindset by setting goals for yourself, taking on challenges, and asking for help when you need it.
- Build confidence in your abilities because with a growth mindset great things are possible!
2. How can you start to adopt the growth mindset in your life?
Growth mindset is a muscle that needs to be exercised every day!
Set goals and track your progress:
Start with one goal you can accomplish in 5 days.
When setting your first goal ask yourself
“What is my most important task?”
Create 5 small steps towards accomplishing this task – these are called milestones or checkpoints.
Write these down so they’re clear in your mind as well as visible on paper; at least one milestone should represent something measurable, like finishing half of the project, while another might involve writing 100 words per day for five consecutive days. Make sure each step takes no more than a day to complete.
During these 5 day, don’t forget to celebrate successes:
Share with friends on social media or by emailing them your progress so they can cheer you on and support you in this challenge as well; congratulate yourself for completing each milestone or checkpoint – it’s important that we stay connected to our victories because these are what fuel us forward.
Share why you’re taking the 5 Day Growth Mindset Challenge with those cheering you on! You might be surprised how much more motivated others become when they know someone else is too working towards their own goals right alongside them. Encourage at least one person to join you on the 5 Day Growth Mindset Challenge.
You might be wondering, “What will I have to do?†Here are 5 of our suggested daily tasks:
- Committing 5 minutes each day in a journal or diary entry (not just for today)
- Visualizing successes and failures as stepping stones that teach us valuable lessons so we can go forward with more knowledge and wisdom from past experiences; make these thoughts tangible by drawing them in your journaled entries.
- Empathizing with others instead of judging/labeling people who seem different than you based on appearance or culture. Recognize how it feels like when someone judges you because sometimes those judgments come from fear or ignorance about what the possibilities are.
- Reading 5 pages of a book, article or blog post that you don’t usually read. Read what others think and how they see the world to expand your knowledge on different topics… even if it’s not something you would normally read about.
- Talking 5 minutes each day with someone who is completely opposite from you in some way. Listen for 5 minutes without interrupting them just so that you can find out where their values come from and why they believe what they do.
3. Why does adopting this new way of thinking help you succeed
How you think about yourself and the world around you has a huge impact on your success. If you believe that everything is “good” then it will be easier to cope with adversity and get through tough times because there’s always light at the end of the tunnel. This, in turn, helps create new opportunities for growth both personally and professionally. It’s worth checking out more about Mel Robbins and her approaches to challenging yourself.
4. How can you use the growth mindset to change your life for the better
Every single day that you wake up, adopt a growth mindset. This could be as simple as using 5 words to describe your day and 5 words for the next 5 days of your life that you would like things to change. If in the morning you’re struggling with negative thoughts or feelings, write them down on paper so they can’t control you anymore.
5. Tips on how to develop your own personal growth plan
These three tips have really helped me on my journey to a Growth Mindset:
- Be aware of your thoughts
- Think about an achievement you’re proud of and what it took to get there.
- Try to compliment 5 people every day. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by how much they will appreciate those compliments!
6. Let’s talk about what has been working well for me with my personal development goals, and what I need to work on next week
I have been experimenting with a growth mindset and 5 tips to help me be more positive.
It has been tough, but it’s all worth the effort!
I have grown so much as a person over the 5 days of this challenge and I cannot wait to see how my mindset continues on its way to shifting. One other thing that has helped me tremendously on this journey was to always go back to the 5 tips. They are a constant reminder that I am in control of my thoughts and can change them as they arise, no matter how daunting it may seem at first!
One tip that really resonated with me is thinking about what you’re grateful for when we feel hopeless; acknowledging those “lessons” teaches us something new and does wonders for our soul.
