Dreaming of Snakes: Meaning, Dreams and Healing

I once had a recurring dream about snakes. What does it mean when you dream about snakes? What is the meaning of snake in my dreams? What does it mean if I am bitten by a snake in my dreams? What is the healing power of snakes in my dreams? These are all questions that I asked myself at one time or another, and after doing some research, I realized there was much more to these creatures than people thought.

What does it mean when you dream about snakes?

When someone has a recurring nightmare, they usually don’t know what to do. The first thing that anyone should do after having an intense or scary dream is to talk with their friends and family members. But this doesn’t always help, especially when there’s no way to stop thinking about your terrifying nightmares every time you fall asleep. This was me-I would wake up from these terrible visions feeling terrified on more than one occasion during those few nights which led me to search for information online and find some answers for myself.

Snakes have an ancient association with healing and have been used in rituals since antiquity. What I found most interesting is that snakebites are typically seen as a cure for ailments-not something to be feared. The symbolism of the snake can represent many different things, but it’s often associated with wisdom and protection from harm by some cultures.

Snake Dream Meaning and Understanding

Many people believe that when someone dreams about a snake, it means they’re worried or anxious about their future which might not be grounded on reality (or fact). This could also signify two very different scenarios: It could mean that one feels like they still need healing work to do on certain issues within themselves before moving forward while others may feel more scared because of past memories involving snakes-even if these were just subconscious thoughts rather than actual encounters with them.

Of course, having an actual real life encounter with a snake could also be a reason for dreaming about them in this way. What’s important to note is that even if one does not have any of these associations, the meaning can still vary quite drastically.

For some cultures, snakes symbolize protection from harm and fear because they are seen as being wise creatures who protect their own territory and inhabitants. This belief may stem from actual historical encounters with poisonous animals which effectively made it possible for people to survive these animal attacks by observing how they behave or move when faced with danger. The lifting of the snake up off the ground would symbolically release its venom into the air thereby rendering itself harmless on land while continuing to defend against airborne threats such as birds in flight using only fangs situated at the front of the snake.

Can snakes in my dreams symbolize people?

Snakes may also represent people in your life. Snakes are often portrayed as sneaky, sly and devious creatures.

To dig deeper into this connection, you may need to ask yourself these questions:

  • What do you associate with snakes?
  • What is their meaning to you in your waking life?
  • What types of people are they representing for you in this dream?
  • What type of person are they?
  • What does the snake do to them or how do you feel about them when it is present?

The relationship between the snake and the individual can be something as simple as being a direct manifestation of someone’s fears or anxieties. It could also represent an aspect of oneself that one has been repressing, whether it is anger, rage, fear – take note! This may not always be a bad thing if there has been some healing happening around these aspects already and things have gone relatively smoothly. But even still, what does it mean when we see ourselves being bitten by a snake in our dreams and worries persist about them getting worse over time without any resolution on the horizon.

The Symbolism of Snakes in Dreams

Finally, snakes might symbolize a difficult issue that needs to be addressed – an obstacle we need to overcome and move past so as not to remain stuck on this same question for too long. The snake’s ability to shed its skin has been used by many cultures over history as an analogy for personal rebirths and transformations from one state into another; shedding our old selves like layers of clothes helps us grow stronger while opening up new possibilities through which we can flourish.
